I have been obsessing over liquid lipsticks for the past few months and always found them to have amazing staying power which is why I love them so much.
I received two different liquid lipstick shades in a press pack From Essence Cosmetics and I have always been seeing these liquid lipsticks in the store and was curious about the formula and if they are long lasting at all.
The packaging comes in a clear tube, which makes it easier for you to actually see the product it also has the perfectly matched colour on the top which makes it easy for you to find the exact colour you are looking for. The applicator comes in a narrow doe foot applicator which I honestly like as it gives me better control when I apply them on my lips – I always find that application of liquid lipsticks can be tricky without the right applicator and once they dry then I am stuck with colour over my lips which is hard to get off without messing up everything!
Essence Cosmetics describes the liquid lipstick as a two in one formula that combines coverage of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss. To be honest I would classify this formula more of a pigmented gloss – this liquid lipstick (R47,95) does not wear well at all, same as a lip gloss would it wear for about one to two hours before having to reapply. The formula is thick which I do like.I am also a big fan of the simple packaging – and the product colour in the tube is the perfect match to the actually colour – I really like these two shades Essence has sent me, the red is not too over powering at all.
Would I replace these with my current liquid lipsticks? I think not, I need my liquid lipstick to have all day saying power and sadly these do not deliver they are just pigmented glosses that’s actually not drying to the lips. If you a lip gloss fan then you should definitely take a look at these they are great as a gloss and are super affordable – you can pick them up at any Clicks, Dischem or Takealot stores if you are in South Africa.
