{Guest Post} Summer Lovin’ Basic Essentials

Hey lovelies, today I am featuring another talented writer and lover of fashion Peter Minkoff who’s from the lovely Australia!

Summer is literally heating up and as this season is gaining its momentum, we can’t help but noticing the temperature is going incredibly high. And we do love to be stylish even when it’s hot. Regardless of will you spend the season on a seaside, by the river or by the pool, there are some essential pieces of clothing which will make your summer days more bearable and your look hotter than the summer itself. So, stick around and find out what every fashionable girl should incorporate into her wardrobe this season, and make sure you have some ice nearby, there’ll be a lot of hot stuff.

The number one essential

The number one essential

Let us start with the most basic of all summer basics– swimsuit. Even if you haven’t planned on traveling this season, you’ll have to visit the pool at least for some fun summer poolside party, so you won’t get through these months without a swimsuit. Lucky for you, the fashion gurus have worked hard on new astonishing trends, such as crocheted swimsuit, ethnic print, fringed tops, crop tops, high waist bottom, retro navy prints, classical one piece and mix and match style. So, there is no way you can’t find a swimsuit matching your style and figure.

Covering up

The next item on your summer basics list must be: beachwear. It has been a trend lately to bring some elegance or bohemian style on the beach by adding some fabulous cover up on top of your swimsuit. There are a lot of options for doing that, from easy-breezy kaftans to playsuits. You can put on a sarong or a fabulous beach dress on top of your bikini or one piece swimwear, and you’ll show off your unique sense of style and hide (if you so want) some of your flaws.

Maxi means maxi style

Maxi means maxi style

Nothing can surpass the effortless chic of a maxi dress or a maxi skirt. It’s a piece which can add instant charm to your outfit without giving it any more thought. No matter if you choose to wear in on a beach or for a simple walk in the park, a maxi dress/skirt will give you the perfectly feminine silhouette and accentuate your best features. As for the colors and patterns, floral is always a great option for summer. Stripes and polka dots are great if you’re aiming for a more daring look, and neutrals should be your choice for formal occasions.

Playsuit time

Playsuit time

Summer is the perfect time to come out and play, so why not do it in an always chic playsuit? It’s fresh, modern, practical and chic summer piece which is literally screaming for attention this season. You can wear it as a beach cover up or as a party outfit, there is simply no occasion not appropriate for playsuit. Opt for laced playsuit for romantic walks or a floral one for day on the beach. For poolside or beach side parties, we recommend, monochromatic silky pieces.

Check your beach bag for… oh wait, first acquire a knock-out beach bag. The next thing you’ll need are inevitable sunglasses (be bold with your choice, opt for patterned or colorful pairs). A fedora hat is a must for a chic lady. Leave your flip-flops behind and don’t ever look back but switch to espadrilles and wedges (floral if possible). Be minimalistic as for the jewelry choice, match it with your swimwear or footwear. We recommend for some boho-chic pieces that can enhance perfectly the beauty and freedom-loving feeling of this season.

If you discover some of these essentials is missing, chop-chop, summer won’t be here the whole year, so it’s about time to gear up.
