Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday, for today I am featuring another Aussie for my guest post, her name is Emma.
When you’re getting ready for work, it does not come as a surprise that you need more time than you do on an ordinary day or your day off. You are taking into account more than one thing, and you should pay attention to more than one factor: be comfortable, look good, look professional, don’t go for ‘too casual’ style, etc. This is why it is important that you can send a message with your look, and that message should be: I am a very busy businesswoman, I have a busy day ahead of me, so don’t waste my time.
Basics to make your style
One thing is for sure, when you’re a boss, you don’t do casual; you do bossy. Forget about comfortable sweaters, sweatpants, oversized tees with print, and sneakers; what you need in your wardrobe are suits, shirts, and blazers. Choose your colour palette and make sure you have enough ‘regular’ business pieces, but also a few ‘bossy’ ones which will make you look exceptional and feel confident while wearing them. Pair it up with an amazing bag and you’re good to go.
While male outfits are rather simple and they don’t have enough room to experiment, women can improvise and combine and still look great. You can wear buttoned up shirts, and a suite, and you can even add a tie for effect. Nevertheless, if you would like to emphasize your femininity as well, opt for pencil skirt and a silk blouse instead, and mark how your strength and femininity leave an impression on your co-workers and business partners.
Accessorize it up
As plain as any style may be, it is completely dull without an accessory or two. Now, when it comes to business style and bossy outfits, you don’t want to push it too hard and look casual, but at the same time you don’t want to look like a robot. Add a silk scarf, pearl necklace, and a pair of fabulous pumps – no one will be able to resist you. Pair of well-fitting jeans, striped shirt, and a blazer in combination with black stilettos, statement necklace, and a nice bag – you got yourself beautifully accessorized bossy outfit in less than five minutes.
Dress to impress
No wardrobe is ever complete without a dress or two in it, and a successful businesswoman must have few as well. Sleek black sheath dress pairs up wonderfully with a trench and bracelets or a watch on your hand. Suit dress is also a must, and you should have at least two or three colours to combine as well: black, white, and grey are basics, but red, white, yellow, and blue are also popular.
Most successful businesswomen carry their styles as if they were born with it, they make it all seem so effortless and easy, as if they don’t have a million things on their mind to worry about. Always aim to send a message with your look, and if that message is simply ‘bossy’, you should dress to send it clearly. Leaving a lasting impression is powerful, and once you do it, everyone will remember you.
